I had the opportunity to do another dance photography session with the amazing Empower Dance Studio in downtown Durham. Every.single.time I am in this studio I cry. The spirit of these beautiful girls and their amazing leaders; the music they play, that not only makes your body move, but also your soul; the tremendous vision and leadership in their owner/director – Nicole, her sister Jaime, and her team, move me.  So, when I am in their midst I feel like I am selfishly taking in all of this wonderful energy and experience – but it’s really a gift. And when I get the chance to begin editing, that feeling only multiplies. Their energy emits from my computer, all the while I smile like a little girl in a candy store with each image I edit.

I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to stretch my creative muscle; to partner with a growing, local business that is community-oriented with a service mission; and to contribute, even if in a small way, to the success and advancement of their vision. They truly live up to their name.  Thank you Empower for the honor of another great session!
